INDIANAPOLIS — Investigators are looking into the cause of a two-alarm fire at a vacant former funeral home building on Indianapolis' near east side Saturday evening.

The fire was reported around 8:15 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 1600 block of East New York Street , near North State Avenue.

Responding crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building, and worked for roughly 45 minutes to bring the fire under control, Indianapolis Fire Department Battalion Chief Rita Reith told 13News.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
