A notorious gangster sentenced to 43 years after he ordered underworld hits and dealt in huge amounts of drugs and guns was among the criminals to be jailed this week.
Salford gang boss Jamie Rothwell dealt £7 million worth of cocaine and flooded the country with 'hundreds' of deadly weapons. From his bolthole in Spain where he was hiding out, Rothwell ordered a shooting in Warrington in furtherance of an underworld feud. The huge sentence came after Rothwell had to be extradited back to the UK twice, and after he played a leading role in a Salford gang war which included the murder of 'Mr Big' Paul Massey.
