EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A father is facing child neglect charges after police say he got extremely intoxicated, and his two-year-old was found wondering around outside.
Officers say the toddler was found just after 11 p.m. Saturday in the area of Parrett Street and Monroe Avenue.
Police knocked on several doors but say they couldn’t find his parents.
Child services was called to take him.
A few hours later, in the early morning hours of Sunday, police say there was a frantic call from a woman on Culver Driver who could not find her son.
She said the boy was sleeping when she left him with a sober 30-year-old Kahlil Rias.
Officers say when they arrived Rias was so drunk he couldn’t form sentences and didn’t know where he was, let alone his son.
They say he showed no remorse when it
