ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It's that time of year when you start to smell fresh green chile roasting in the air, and one local farm in Los Ranchos says this weekend's first harvest was a major success. Big Jim Farms wowed guests with its first crop of green chile, plus a variety of other vegetables and flowers, kicking off their U-pick season.

The farm offers on-site chile roasting. "This is a fun event to come and pick your own green chile. You could also pick your own flowers here. We also have farm animals, and it's just a nice afternoon. We have picnic tables, and it's just relaxing in the city to just kind of just kick back," says farmer Chantelle Wagner.
