ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta City Councilwoman Marci Collier Overstreet is calling for MARTA to share its safety protocols at transit stations after recent shootings and an escalator malfunction.

“It’s extremely important that the record is set as to the quality of safety and protocol that happens around all of our MARTA stations,” Overstreet said.

Overstreet is the Vice Chair of the city’s transportation committee. She’s running for city council president.

Overstreet plans to introduce a resolution during the city council meeting on Monday, which will request that MARTA come before the transportation committee to present its safety protocols at transit stations.
