MADISON COUNTY, Ky. —
A Madison County woman is facing a felony charge after she reportedly caused thousands of dollars in damage to her ex-boyfriend's car.
According to court records, Stephanie Carlquist has been charged with criminal mischief after police said she left the car "completely damaged beyond repair."
Between July 6 and July 20, Carlquist reportedly poured salt into the engine, dumped glitter in the air vents, slashed a tire, cracked the windshield and rearview mirror, and broke the screen for the radio.
The victim told police that the car had to be towed and was later deemed a total loss.
Goodyear reportedly estimated the damage at more than $12,000.
Court documents state Carlquist admitted to the damage in messages sent to the victim.
