ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Ithaca Police say they’re seeing an increase in thefts from parked vehicles across the city and are urging residents to take precautions.
Investigators say the thefts have been reported at several locations, including city streets, local parks, and downtown parking garages. In some cases, suspects have smashed windows to get inside locked cars.
Police are reminding drivers to lock their vehicles, remove valuables when possible, and keep items like electronics, prescriptions, or jewelry out of sight.
