FARGO (KVRR/KFGO) – The Fargo Fire Department stopped fuel from reaching the Red River Sunday afternoon.
A spokesman for the department says a person out for a walk near South University Drive and 40th Avenue reported smelling fuel coming from Rose Creek Coulee.
Firefighters could also smell the fuel. They were able to stop the fuel before it reached the river. Crews were at the scene for around 3.5 hours.
The department has not determined the source of the fuel.
