SHELTON, CT (WFSB) - A 68-year-old woman was able to fend off a burglary suspect whom she interrupted in her home in Shelton, police said.

Police identified the suspect as 57-year-old David Pavlik of Seymour.

They said that Pavlik had done some previous work at the victim’s home.

Police said the woman came home to her Huntington area home on Aug. 15 around 12:15 p.m. to find her door slightly open.

She found a man inside. He had his face covered.

Police said the victim got into a fight with the suspect, during which she bit him.

The suspect fled, but not before the woman was able to get pictures of the suspect and his vehicle.

As a result, police said they were able to quickly identify the suspect as Pavlik. The information was relayed to other police departments.
