Two American passengers from Carnival Cruise Line ships drowned in separate incidents on Friday (August 15) at Celebration Key, a private resort in the Bahamas. The resort, a $600 million facility that opened in July, was the site of these tragic events, according to authorities.
The first incident involved a 79-year-old man who was snorkeling off one of the beaches at Celebration Key. Around noon, he became unresponsive, and despite efforts by a lifeguard and medical professionals to revive him, he was pronounced dead by a doctor.
