LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An inmate who didn’t return to a Lincoln prison facility after a furlough was arrested in Dakota City on Sunday.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Alexander Gouge, 38, was taken into custody by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
He went missing on Aug. 14 when he did not return to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln from a job-seeking furlough, officials said.
Gouge was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in Lancaster County for refusing to submit a DUI test for the fifth time. His prison sentence began on Aug. 31, 2021.
Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility.
