NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The second stolen valor case against a New Madrid County man moves to circuit court after a preliminary hearing on Monday morning.

A New Madrid County judge found probable cause to continue the case against 52-year-old William Clark.

Clark is charged with two felonies in his home county: forgery, violation of the Missouri Stolen Valor Act, including medals of distinction.

He’s accused of falsely representing himself as a veteran who earned a Purple Heart in an effort to join the Lilbourn VFW last spring.

Clark’s next court appearance in this case is set for September.

He’s also charged with forgery and stolen valor in Dunklin County.
