CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Police are investigating after a gunshot victim showed up at the emergency room.

According to Carbondale police, officers responded to the hospital around 3:39 a.m. on Saturday, August 16.

They say the adult victim had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to police, the victim reported being at a gathering in the 400 block of North Washington Street when shots were fired.

The victim said the motive for the shooting appeared to be the result of a recent dispute between the victim and known acquaintances.
