FORT PLAIN — A Canajoharie man has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty for allegedly hitting a kitten "deliberately" with his pickup truck while driving in the village earlier this month, according to police.

Gregory Leary, 76, was traveling westbound on Canal Street around 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 1 when he allegedly crossed into the eastbound lane and intentionally struck the kitten standing on the shoulder. He continued westbound without stopping, police said.
