NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston Police are responding to a Monday shooting that injured one person.

Police spokesman Harve Jacobs said the shooting happened just before 1 p.m. in the 4200 block of Rivers Avenue.

EMS took a man to an area hospital for treatment, Jacobs said.

Witnesses reported a large police presence on Rivers Avenue near Beaufort and Maple Avenues.

There was no immediate word on the victim’s condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the shooting should call the North Charleston Police Tip Line at 843-607-2076.
