HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Three previously convicted felons from Evansville have been sentenced to federal prison for illegally possessing firearms as part of the Department of Justice's Project Safe Neighborhoods program.

According to a release, all three cases are unrelated, but Tom Wheeler, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, says the efforts of the Evansville Police Department and ATF have reduced the chance of a situation turning deadly for victims, bystanders and law enforcement.
