LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The ribbon has officially been cut, opening new pathways in engineering.
The University of Kentucky has joined with a defense technology leader to open Lockheed Martin’s Lexington Engineering Center of Excellence.
“We are formally combining our strengths to directly benefit our nation’s special operations command and at the same time, create new pathways for innovation, workforce development, and economic growth here in Kentucky,” shared President Eli Capilouto, University of Kentucky.
The new facility, located on the university’s Coldstream Research Campus, provides critical engineering support for cutting-edge technology, which will enable the mission of Lockheed Martin to thrive.
