GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Greenville City Council voted five to one to rezone and annex more than 23 acres, clearing the way for a new multi-family development.

During Thursday’s meeting, the city council heard an ordinance request to rezone 23.888 acres at the intersection of Allen Road and the Dickinson Avenue extension.

They also heard an annexation request for the same property where Hillpointe, LLC plans to build a mix of housing types, including multi-family and townhomes.

Both were approved five to one, with Councilwoman Tonya Foreman as the only nay vote.

The development’s completion is expected to take between three and five years, according to the meeting’s agenda.
