ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man considered “armed and dangerous” who was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting at a DeKalb County apartment complex has been arrested, according to Brookhaven police.
Police said officers responded to the Carmel Creek Apartments on Buford Highway around 2:45 a.m. Sunday and found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim, Herrardo Cruz Cortez, later died.
According to police, Cortez had been drinking with 31-year-old Jose Carlos Meza Ignacio when an argument began about Meza Ignacio’s gun. Meza Ignacio then shot Cortez and ran away.
Meza Ignacio was arrested just before 2 p.m. Monday in Chamblee.
He has been charged with murder, first-degree cruelty to children, third-degree cruelt
