A major announcement was made at the Alberto de Paz y Mateos Theater. This is the first Venezuelan Theater Festival 2025, which will kick off its first phase from August 28 to 31 in the country's 24 states, especially Guayana Esequiba, and in Caracas.

Present at yesterday's press conference were Ernesto Villegas, Minister of Culture; Carlos Arroyo, director of the National Theater Company (CNT); Karen Millán, Deputy Minister of Culture; and Aura Rivas, leading actress.

Villegas described this festival as "the birth of a much-needed new cultural tool," one that has as its precedent the International Progressive Theater Festival, which emerged after the pandemic, when stage artists needed to showcase their creations and performances.
