The 2025 Lompoc Valley high school football season will commence Friday.

Cabrillo will host Selma at Huyck Stadium in Lompoc at 4:45 p.m. Lompoc will play at Nipomo at 7 p.m. Because of insufficient lighting at the venerable Huyck facility, the Lompoc Valley football teams will play their home games in the afternoons instead of the traditional Friday nights.

Selma edged Cabrillo 29-26 at Selma in the opener for both teams last year. After winning that one, the Bears went on to win the CIF Central Section Division 5 championship before losing in the first round of the state 5-A playoffs.
