The Hurricanes want fans to make themselves seen at their season-opener against Notre Dame.
UM announced that the rivalry game will be an “orange out,” urging fans to wear orange clothes to the game. The Hurricanes face the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
Miami has an all-time record of 8-18-1 against Notre Dame. But since 1979, when Howard Schnellenberger took over as UM’s coach, the Hurricanes have a 7-8 record against the Fighting Irish, and the series became one of the most hotly contested rivalries of the 1980s.
The Hurricanes are ranked 10th in the AP poll to start the season . Notre Dame is ranked sixth.
