SPOKANE, Wash. – A man involved in the murder case of a 13-year-old boy in Hillyard pleaded guilty to rendering criminal assistance at the Spokane County Courthouse as part of a plea deal.
Mason Bolton, 26, admitted to helping Glen Burkey, 25, hide from police earlier this year.
Police discovered Bolton was paying rent for an apartment in Missoula, Montana, where Burkey was allegedly hiding.
Payments were tracked through Cash App, and text messages indicated the apartment was used to shelter Burkey from capture, investigators said.
Burkey is awaiting trial for the murder of 13-year-old Gavin Looper.
In court, Gavin's mother, Renee Rogers, expressed her feelings toward Bolton.
