FORT WORTH, Texas — A man was killed after being shot Monday afternoon while driving a sedan that later crashed into a light pole in Fort Worth, police said.

Officers responded around 2:51 p.m. to the 4600 block of East Berry Street, where they found the driver suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to Fort Worth police. In an update on Tuesday, Fort Worth police said the man died from his injuries.

Investigators believe the victim and two people in a large pickup truck got into an altercation near a convenience store. Police said after both parties left the store, they were all driving eastbound on East Berry Street, when the suspect pulled alongside the victim's vehicle and fired at least one shot, striking him.
