TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Some Tampa residents say loud music, racing cars, and even food truck generators create too much commotion, and they want the city to do something about it. City leaders are now reviewing whether the noise ordinance needs an update to lower the volume.

In SoHo, weekdays can be quiet. But neighbors said weekends are anything but. At a public meeting Monday, residents shared frustrations and learned how the city is working to find a middle ground — one that allows businesses to thrive without drowning out the people who live nearby.

“Why are we treating the SoHo area like an entertainment district,” one resident said.

To address complaints like this, Tampa hired consultants to study the issue.
