BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - We’ll continue to deal with a combination of very hot weather and occasionally strong storms over the next couple of days.

HEAT ADVISORY

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the majority of the WAFB viewing area on Tuesday. Heat index values could peak near 110 degrees in some areas.

TUESDAY FORECAST

The day should start out dry, but scattered storms return by the afternoon. While likely not as widespread as Monday, a few storms could be strong. Otherwise, look for highs to soar into the mid 90s before any storms develop.

TROPICS STAYING ACTIVE

In addition to Hurricane Erin, the National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical waves farther out in the Atlantic. The first has a good chance of development later this week, while the other is expected to encounter
