BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Cassia County School District’s first day of school is Tuesday, but they opened the new Cassia Regional Technical Center’s Diesel Shop earlier on Monday.

In the past years, students at the diesel mechanics programs have shared a shop with the automotive program. But this year, they’ll have a space to call home.

It is important to give these students a hands-on learning experience, and this new Diesel Shop will do just that, according to Assistant Superintendent Chester Bradshaw.

The two-year program can benefit these students in many ways.

“They can get ASCE certified in anything that they cover, which is huge, Bradshaw said. ”That’s what they really want in the industry. They want ASCE certifications. So, for example, when Mr. Evans covers air condition
