SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - WNDU.com is counting down the days until the Notre Dame football team begins its 2025 season against the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium. We’re providing bits of information and insight about the team and the game every day until the season begins.

Notre Dame is still undecided about their starting quarterback but Syracuse has named their starter and it’s former Fighting Irish quarterback Steve Angeli. He left Notre Dame after the spring game because he was told that CJ Carr or Kenny Minchey would likely be the starter. He decided to use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.

As we reported yesterday the Irish named their six captains for the 2025 season. If you missed it they are junior linebacker Drayk Bowen, redshirt junior defensive tackle Donovan
