BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (WIS) - A teenager is facing charges, including attempted murder, after a shooting late last week in the Midlands.
The Bishopville Police Department said the 13-year-old, who is not being identified due to their age, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a deadly crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The department said officers responded to a call about a reported shooting at Woodisde Apartments on Aug. 15. They reportedly found a victim who was seriously hurt at the scene before being taken to a hospital by EMS. No further details were provided on their condition.
Bishopville police said the suspect is currently being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Center in Columbia.
