SOLON, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar Rapids man was arrested after driving a rental pontoon while drunk.
36-year-old Toman Grupee, of Cedar Rapids was charged with operating a motorboat while intoxicated.
Police say he was driving a rental pontoon on Lake Macbride and crashed into the shoreline.
According to court documents, witnesses helped him get the boat loose from the shore and expressed concerns about Grupee’s intoxication level.
He was consuming Modelo and multiple empty alcohol bottles were found on the boat, witnesses reported.
Police say he refused a breathalyzer test and smelled like alcohol. Grupee was arrested.
