CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Multiple suspects in a Catawba County mas shooting appeared in court on Monday.
Zachary Bates and Izaiah Kane Mitchell each face one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and 63 counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
One person was killed and 11 others were hurt when someone fired more than 80 shots at a pool party in Mountain View, a small community in southwest Catawba County. Some of the rounds shot people, others hit homes and parked cars.
"People that pull a trigger, a bullet doesn't care where it goes," James Barnacle with the FBI said. "They have a responsibility and they're going to face justice."
Earlier that night, deputies responded to a noise complaint at the party and spoke with the host. Deputies left
