EUGENE, Ore. - The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up efforts to combat impaired driving with state grant-funded overtime for DUII enforcement over the next few weeks, according to LCSO officials.

LCSO authorities said that deputies arrested seven drivers for DUII over the past weekend. The arrests underscore the ongoing danger impaired drivers pose to community safety.

On August 14, deputies arrested Russell Darrin Allen, 35, of Eugene, for DUII and possession of methamphetamine after receiving reports of a likely intoxicated driver in Creswell. Later that day, Barbara Dawn Atchley, 65, of Eugene, was arrested for DUII after deputies observed her vehicle driving poorly in Eugene.
