The FBI announced 11 undocumented immigrants were arrested in Seymour after a joint effort with ICE, the Seymour Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. In a news release, the FBI said the arrests were targeting individuals who have already been charged or convicted with various crimes or who had unlawfully entered the U.S.

Those crimes including narcotics trafficking, sexual battery, child molesting, domestic violence, strangulation and possession of numerous illegal weapons.

“This was not a sweep, nor did it involve schools or other sensitive locations," said Seymour Police Department Chief Greg O’Brien. "The focus was solely on removing dangerous offenders to protect the safety of our residents."

One person had previously been deported five times, the release said
