SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Over the past few days, some of the top law officials in the country have been going after social media apps for harmful features to kids.
On Tuesday, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced he was taking his concerns to court.
Ellison filed his lawsuit in the Hennepin District Court, saying TikTok violated state laws by deceptively creating addictions.
This comes just days after Ellison, South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, and 35 other attorneys general called out META, which owns Instagram, for installing a feature that puts kids’ safety at risk.
Jackley and Co. sent a letter to Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, expressing serious concern over the new location-sharing feature.
