SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Sioux Falls City Council passed the controversial dwelling ordinance on Tuesday night.
In a 7-1 vote, the ordinance addresses dwellings in public places, like city parks. The new ordinance would officially prohibit such dwellings.
The city said this ordinance reflects growing concerns around public health, safety, and the responsible use of parks, green spaces, and other public areas.
Those against the ordinance say it unfairly targets the homeless.
