PGA Tour star Ben Griffin, who is currently a top-20 player in the world , got off to a slow start during the final round of this past weekend’s BMW Championship. As it turns out, there was a good reason for Griffin’s struggles.
The 29-year-old explained after his final round that he got off to a triple-bogey, double-bogey, bogey start because he had too much creatine right before he teed off.
According to the Cleveland Clinic , creatine is "a natural source of energy that helps your skeletal muscles flex (contract). It helps create a steady supply of energy in your muscles so they can keep working, especially while you’re exercising."
Griffin found out on Sunday that you have to be careful to not take too much at one time.
“It’s kind of an interesting story,” Ben Griffin said .
