The New Jersey manufacturer of Mike’s Hard Lemonade and White Claw Hard Seltzer has notified the state’s Department of Labor & Workforce Development that the company intends to lay off 143 people from its Union County location this fall.
Mark Anthony Brewing , of Hillside, filed a WARN notice this month saying the company plans to lay off workers at the plant beginning Sept. 26 through Nov. 3.
A WARN notice refers to a notification required under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, a U.S. labor law passed in 1988.
Mark Anthony Brewing opened its Hillside brewery in June 2020.
The opening was part of a national expansion that also added plants in Arizona and South Carolina, according to the company’s website.
