TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Tuscaloosa City School District is ushering in changes with school buses this year, including air conditioning , and a bus app.

School officials say the app is going well, except they say more parents should sign up for it. Right now, only around 2,000 parents have signed up for the finder app.

It’s a new thing for the school district; parents can actually track their child’s school bus en route to and from school.

“It’s new. You know just like anything new, it takes a little time of getting people in the habit of using it but we’ve seen some improvements, and we hope to see more improvements. We’re going to do some school-based training and implementation to help parents,” said Tuscaloosa City School District Transportation Director Tiny McCool.
