ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Gwinnett County firefighter and a resident were hurt as crews worked to put out a large fire at an apartment complex in Lawrenceville.

It happened Tuesday morning at 1406 Club Lakes Parkway, which is the location of The Oxford and Water Vista apartments.

Fire officials said the roof collapsed, trapping a crew on a second-story balcony. They were later evacuated with a ladder.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. One resident suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. Another firefighter was evaluated and released at the scene “for a non-life-threatening illness,” according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
