BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Commuters are advised to consider alternative routes on parts of the University of Alabama at Birmingham's campus, starting Aug. 20.

UAB students will move into residence halls from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Aug. 20 and Aug. 24, said the university.

UAB Transportation listed these areas as being affected during those days and times:

14th Street South to 18th Street South between 11th Avenue South and University Boulevard

16th Street South will be restricted to one-way traffic headed south between University Boulevard, and 10th Avenue South

Vehicles can travel westbound on 10th Avenue South to access parking lots between 17th and 18th Street South

Traffic headed eastbound on 10th Avenue South will be able to access 16th Street South but must turn right
