LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A drunken man assaulted two officers Monday in north Lincoln, police say.

About 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance near 21st Street and Atlas Avenue.

They found 34-year-old Robinson Contreras of Columbus, who was extremely drunk, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

LPD said Contreras was confrontational with the officers, refusing to follow their orders and kicking two of them in the legs.

Officers had to put handcuffs, leg restraints and a helmet on Contreras for their safety, police said.

Contreras was arrested on suspicion of two counts of third-degree assault on an officer, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
