PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Steelers fans hoping to get a series or two of the team's new look starting offense will have to wait until week one at the New York Jets. Mike Tomlin confirmed Tuesday that Aaron Rodgers will again sit in the preseason finale against the Panthers.

"I'll roll with whatever Mike [Tomlin] decides," Rodgers said Tuesday.

Tomlin said Rodgers, T.J. Watt, DK Metcalf and Cam Heyward would all be held out Thursday night. Everyone else is "in consideration."

"They're preparing as if they're going to play," said Tomlin. " There are a lot of variables in it. Who's playing for Carolina and things of that nature that might provide worthy competition. As I sit here today, all healthy, outside of the four that I mentioned, are preparing and scheduled to play."
