BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Voters in Bettendorf will be able to make a big decision on the future of public safety in the city during a November Special City Election.
Tuesday night, Bettendorf City Council approved a resolution calling for a Special City Election to be held on Nov. 4 that will ask voters if the city may spend up to $27 million to construct, equip, and furnish a new police station.
According to city officials, 95 % of Bettendorf residents say they are satisfied with their ‘sense of overall safety.’ With public safety being one of the City of Bettendorf’s highest priorities, especially as its population and geography grow.
There’s a number of reasons why the city wants to build a new facility, and Bettendorf Police Chief Doug Scott said that the current police station is
