MAIZE, Kan. (KSNW) - Producing talent like current Kansas State University quarterback Avery Johnson, Maize High School is no stranger to stellar athletes.

Head coach Gary Guzman has consistently proven himself to be one of the best in the area, but his team has had to adapt at a rapid pace.

Since making the jump from 5A to 6A, the Eagles were not quite as dominant as their 12-1 season in 2022, but they still make plenty of noise when it came to the postseason. The team shocked the area with a late run in 2023, and managed to win five straight games at the end of last year, following a 0-4 start.
