WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Property crimes continue to impact Wichita neighborhoods.

Police say it's one of the biggest concerns voiced at community meetings.

KSN rode along with the Wichita Police Department's property crime reduction task force to see how officers are tackling the problem.

Lt. Drew Seiler says property crime touches thousands of Wichitans every year.

On the streets of Wichita, police say property crime makes up the majority of their calls.

"Property crimes impact Wichita, more Wichita citizens as a whole than any other case," said Seiler.

Investigators say these crimes don't just cost money — they shake people's sense of security.

"It's such a violation of your privacy that it creates fear," said Seiler.
