ODENVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A group of passionate parents stood in front of the St. Clair County Board of Education Tuesday night calling for better safety procedures.

This is following a Back to School Dance at Odenville Middle School Friday night where parents say several girls assaulted by some boys at the event .

Parents say boys at the dance took pictures under girls’ skirts and groped them. At some point, they say some of the girls were trying to get away, either hiding in the bathroom or the hallway when they were told by administration to go back inside and “deal with it.”

Mack Smith said his daughter was one of those assaulted and he’s deeply disturbed.

“I’m here for my child and I really don’t care what nobody thinks of me,” he shared.
