OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Health announced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is reaching out to backyard bird owners to participate in an anonymous survey about avian influenza (H5 bird flu).
The survey covers topics such as flock information, knowledge of H5 bird flu symptoms, risk concerns and protective measures.
Participants can provide insights on reporting sick or dead birds and share practices for protecting themselves and their flocks from the virus.
The CDC plans to use the findings to enhance prevention activities for H5 bird flu.
