Coastal communities are keeping an eye on Hurricane Erin's path with the growing threat of dangerous high tides and rip currents.

Nantucket has already closed all South Shore beaches to swimming due to large surf, dangerous shore break, and life-threatening rip currents.

"Please do not enter the water on the South Shore," the harbormaster wrote on X.

The Steamship Authority has also already announced possible service disruptions as it monitors the storm's path this week, as well.
