BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Gov. Jeff Landry is expected to make a major announcement about Baton Rouge crime reduction on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

According to the governor’s office, Gov. Landry will discuss the results of Operation Violent Crime Takedown in Baton Rouge during a news conference.

It is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.

The initiative is part of the governor’s long-term promise to reduce crime across the state, according to his office.
