A man who was reportedly the victim of a "stabbing" has been arrested.

The man, 28, was arrested while nursing a head injury after a stabbing was reported in Dewsbury Road, Hunslet, at 2.13pm yesterday, Tuesday, August 19. West Yorkshire Police arrested him for being wanted on recall to prison.

A force spokesperson said: "At 2.13pm yesterday (Tuesday), police were called by the ambulance service who were attending a report of a stabbing on Dewsbury Road, Hunslet.

"When they arrived, the victim had left the scene. Officers attended and located the victim, a 28-year-old man, with a head injury. He was arrested for being wanted on recall to prison."
